further pieces of me:
a sculptor hoarding postcards and fabric swatches, collections of washi tape falling out of boxes, the tools of the trade for a multi media creator who hopes their films and art can lend light in the dark...
pieces of me:
an avid tea drinker with their nose in a book, scribbling poems, ideas and prose as the tarot cards overlook, mending jumpers and cardigans that have lost their buttons...
Another collaged texture I made for 'Revived Song' - a short film that @24feugenia , @ma.senos and I worked on for a 48hr animation jam in 2024. This one makes me feel like I'm travelling through a portal - maybe that is from all the star and galaxy paper. π
Found one of the collaged textures I made for 'Revived Song' - a short film that @24feugenia , @ma.senos and I worked on for a 48hr animation jam in 2024. I scavenged my piles of scrap paper, washi tape and thread to make the textures. And, if you've got a keen eye, you can see a wrapper from a sweet I munched on - iykyk πΈπ¬
The full Snail Mail film is already on YouTube, so why not put it on Instagram too?
Now before anyone comments it, yes, I know, they are technically slugs and I have had so many people tell me 'it should be called Slug Mail'. A lot was cut out of this film for a multitude of reasons and that includes the scenes that had the 'slugs' be more like snails.
I made this film back in 2021 with no budget. All the set, props and puppets made by me. 3/4 days in a studio to animate it all, with a lot of it shot in the communal living room of the student accom I was in (sorry housemates). By all accounts, I did not think I would be able to finish this film. And yet here it is. It screened at streetside cinema/ 2022, Student World Impact Film Festival 2023, and Leicester Film Festival 2023. And now, you can watch it here. Many people helped keep me sane during the making of this film (you know who you are) and I thank you so much for that. Anabel created the most beautiful soundtrack and I'm so grateful to have worked with her. Thank you for all the love and kind messages Snail Mail has received over the years.

In my short film Snail Mail, there is a scene with Postage Stamps coming out of a machine. This is one of my favourite scenes that I animated and I wanted to commemorate it by using the stamps from that scene and turning them into letter writing paper! I made a few and sent them along with the party hats I made to the lovely people who helped make Snail Mail a reality. Only problem I have now is that I want to make more of my own letter writing paper! ππ
What better way to celebrate the release of Snail Mail than making some party hats?! They're each made from scrap fabric and ribbon π I sent them out to some people who helped make Snail Mail a reality. I had a lot of fun making these and might do more in the future!
You can now watch Snail Mail on YouTube! ππ
