That one time I worked on a Bruce Timm project. It seems like action scenes today have way more camera moves trying to cram in as much 3d as possible. During Jackie Chan era, action sequences were much clearer and we can see the entire fight without interruption. (also because the actors did their own stunts and planning)
looking back, id do a few things differently now, but simple is good. we can change tires, but there no need to reinvent the wheel.

I think this was for a League of Legend trailer or something.
the tumble is a fun exercise to practice bouncing and ragdoll effect of the body. You only get a hand full of drawings to create impact and rotation. The harder part would be to track secondary actions like limbs/cloth/props with the direction of the action.

Another year another marathon # 35 for me. Happy Birthday @claytonleefessier ! it's not always about how fast you run but having a friend who wanna go through this with you and no matter how painful we get to cross the finish line... is priceless.
It's not so different from working on a show, you start with enthusiasm and passion then the pressure and obstacles get in the way and all the joy goes out the window until the final episode you muster the last of your creative juice to see it finish.
Even the worst cramps eventually goes away, tough times don't last.
