ART OF ITALICUS
Studio Ghibli’s ‘Porco Rosso’ is set upon the sweeping Adriatic Sea and Mediterranean coastline, telling the tale of a fighter pilot cursed to live as an outcast in his home.
Like every Ghibli film it was created from hand drawn visuals, meticulous detail in every frame, time and energy spent to make each second bring a story to life.
I find something beautiful in an animation studio staying true to its creative processes amidst an industry so saturated with CGI. Ghibli has created magic, and tells a story with the bones of pure artistry untainted by modern technology.
If you know me you know my drinks can swing drastically between minimalism and over the top chaos.
I’ve landed on minimalism with this one and reminded myself that sometimes less is more.
