I had a great evening speaking to Lexington-Rockbridge-Buena Vista Democrats Saturday night. I met terrific folks and had a blast spending time with Virginia Sen. Creigh Deeds. Rockbridge County will be a key area when we win the 6th!

Great to spend time in conversation with the amazing Mona Raza, General Counsel and Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley. We talked about the importance of Legal Aid to ensure the rights of everyone and how the safety net is being stretched even thinner as rising prices for housing and living expenses are pushing more and more people, including seniors and others on fixed incomes, into poverty.
Turns out you CAN go home again! While not everyone has good things to say about my portayal of Urbana, Ohio in “Paper Girl,” at least they were all polite. Shout-out to the cute Kellenberger boys, Chuck and Phil, who bequeathed me their paper route when I was 9.

Meeting with supporters in Roanoke on Sunday afternoon to talk about sensible solutions to gun violence was inspiring.
These folks, many of them moms, have handed out free gun locks at community events, advocated for common-sense gun-safety laws and they even met with gun-lobby-owned congressman Ben Cline to urge him to change the name of his "Hearing Protection Act," a bill intentionally misnamed to obscure the fact that it lifts the 92-year-old ban on gun silencers.
Watching children making campaign signs was a treat. Look at the sign on the left: "I bevlin in you.” I bevlin in y'all, too!
