This week. Are you ready for it?
“What are you doing tomorrow?”
“Nothing.”
“Want to do nothing together?”
Hacemos nada juntos. Doing nothing together is not the same as doing nothing. It is something else entirely — a way of being without accounting for time, without forcing anything, letting things unfold.
This is the invitation Óscar Florit extends at Booth P212, where Valerie Krause, Johanna von Monkiewitsch, Fabio Viscogliosi, Richard Woods, Erika Hock, Álvaro Gil and Beth Letain sit alongside one another. They come into contact. They shape each other. Without fully resolving. As in life.
Beth Letain (b. Edmonton, 1976) works with minimalist geometric forms — circuits, windows, portals, trees — points of transfer and connection. Carefully prepared glowing white surfaces, contrasted by fast, almost gestural oil paint. Systems and uncertainty held together in the same image.
Come and do nothing. For a while.
Presented as part of #ARTCOLOGNEPALMAMALLORCA - organised at the invitation of #ArtPalmaContemporani.

As part of Art Palma Brunch, we present two solo exhibitions:
- Gizela Mickiewicz “Phases, Places and Faces”
- Beth Letain “As Night Follows Day”, curated by Nick Koenigsknecht
Two practices that consider transformation as an ongoing condition: moving between phases and places, and between the withdrawal of light and the persistence of form.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 21, from 11am to 3pm.

Beth Letain, “As Night Follows Day”

Beth Letain, “As Night Follows Day”
In a post-truth world, there is a refuge of truth that can be found in painting. This exhibition unfolds as much as it, almost nostalgically, envelops us in the simple yet mysterious truth at the core of Beth Letain’s work and studio practice.
