My beautiful Grandma, My heart is broken
Grandma has been my life. She had so many more years than me.. so many memories, so many people who loved her. But she was mine too. Iāll carry her with me always, especially when I laugh so hard I canāt help but wee a little.
My heart is so heavy without you
March Meet the Maker š
I used to spend a lot more of my time actually making. These days I mostly find myself project managing, organising events, and generally keeping lots of plates spinning behind the scenes.
A couple of years ago I enthusiastically blew about Ā£20k making, running lavish events and exhibiting in London (artists⦠weāre nothing if not optimistic). So right now Iām in the slow and steady phase of making that pot back and patiently waiting for the economy to remember that luxury goods are, in fact, quite nice to buy.
That said, there are obviously much bigger things going on in the world right now, so Iām not exactly losing sleep over it. In the meantime, Iām really enjoying teaching, and running my company @blowfish_gallery ā which keeps life interesting and very busy.
Still making⦠just in slightly different ways š @marchmeetthemaker #marchmeetthemaker
Itās been a while since Iāve made anything at all, and to relieve the slight nag that I havenāt posted in a while, I thought Iād share my latest interest. After a frantic but fun day in the hotshop making terrariums, Iāve then layered up gravel, charcoal, and compost, and arranged random bits of pennywort, moss and stones collected from walks, along with a couple of bought plants!
Iām chuffed because functional work isnāt something Iāve usually been interested in, but as someone who grew up loving gardening with my dad (you wouldnāt think so looking at our garden atm), and remembering the massive terrarium in my grandmaās front room when I was younger, AND always collecting random stones from walks this has been a really fun thing to do.
Obviously I canāt have a house full of terrariums, so Iāll have x3 for sale in my gallery over our next event! The more I sell, the more I can make š so if you come to my next event at @blowfish_gallery (Feb 28th-March 1st), do me a favour and get one! š Because Iād love to make more!
Received a delightful review this week⦠my emotions went from offended to annoyed to amused. As google won't remove it, please help me with my responseā¦
Weāre beyond chuffed to be featured in The Guardian and The Observer, as part of a nationwide campaign celebrating inspiring British brands ā alongside legends like Peregrine, Kent Brushes, and Dragon Fire & Safety Services. š¬š§āØ

š I often get asked about fears surrounding the decline of glassmaking. But contemporary glass sculpture is far from fading! Many of the masters of this craft are alive and actively shaping its future. šŗāØ
Supporting living artists is essential, as they are the innovators pushing the boundaries of glass art. Losing the glassmaking trade would mean losing a vital part of our cultural heritage. Instead of letting this beautiful art form fade, celebrate and uplift the talented artists who are defining its legacy š
