Seventeen. Nate is seventeen.
Tomorrow he sits his driving license. Today I ponder where my baby went and how did he turn into this amazing young man- seemingly overnight.
Watching him grow, and surprise me with his kindness, depth of character, intelligence and love is something I am grateful for every day.
I’m in awe of his bravery and strength, of which he has shown far more than is fair and never once complained.
He does complain about my taking photos, singing, incessantly adoring him and being cringe. So there is definitely still room for improvement….Joyfully he has the rest of his life to work on improving his tolerance and patience😏😉😂😘
Looking at these photos we must have done something right because we have two great lads and they build each other up, I wish a life of brotherhood for them. Unconditional love and acceptance.
I love you Nato. I’m so grateful to watch you grow, to be able to love and support you. Thank you.
It was a beautiful morning. Set off with the Big Italian for 6 clicks with 10kilo weight vest. Carried 15kilos for the last 2 kilometres hahaha.

31 Days of Cold Plunging for a Cancer Cure.
Day 31: Final Dip for Cancer and the Dolphins came out in support.
Yep! Hard to catch them but they swam and jumped and splashed about close to shore after my dip. A whole pod.
What a beautiful moment to experience.
So you’ll see I have the broad brim on today. In spite of wearing it fishing and sunscreen I managed to get too much sun this weekend while out and about.
Sunburn is uncomfortable but not anything like treatment for skin cancer.
This leads into my inspiration for this crazy cold crusade.
I spent a decade or more of summers in our pool, under the sprinkler, on the slip and slide or at Eugenana Quarry just generally being flippant, young and indestructible in the Tasmanian sun. Pfft- Tasmania, what sun I hear you scoff.
I learnt that my childhood partner in crime for such adventures and lifelong friend has been just recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. Yep. I sobbed into my breakfast at the news.
I have had ample opportunity of late to sit and question where the last couple of decades have gone and feel overwhelmed at the time I don’t have left, things I didn’t get to do and probably never will- imagine throwing a cancer diagnosis into the mix.
That’s her reality and that’s the reality for so many Australians. Just like her, like you- like me.
If you have not in the past 12 months, please book a skin check with your GP or skin specialist.
Last check I had which was just by chance, they found a melanoma.
We are not indestructible. We are however, irreplaceable.
Thanks Fam x
Proud to say that in August, I have plunged into cold water every day in support of the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
Last day and last check $2,285 in the Cancer Council Piggy Bank🌼
If you can’t take the plunge into the cold take one into your back pocket, just a fiver, and count your blessings that you don’t have to endure either Cancer or the Cold Plunge. FYI pretty sure Cancer sucks more than a cold plunge.
Big love 🩷♥️💙💛

Fridays dip was a special one, Coops Birthday so I was fortunate enough to do my dip on Big Woody Island.
If you look carefully you can see a straw hat floating out next to the tinny (um under that), then there’s Big Dogs foot and a bit of picnic esky- which housed cheese, biscuits, strawberries, raspberries, Belgian chocolate dipping sauce and birthday pavlova, of course.
The land or sand mass in the distance behind me is K’gari. What a flex.
