Life lately - mostly beyond the canvas. Over the past couple months, I started some really big paintings, lost a pet (hamster Huey) as he died in my hands, petted sheep with my seester, played silly board games in Breckenridge, got a concussion in a scary bike accident, laid in bed a lot, got lots of puppy snugs, had skin cancer removed from my arm, went to a red rocks show with my childhood bestie in the freezing rain and cried my eyes out the whole set (I’ve been very emotional), ate lots of ice cream, packed up my studio, and started moving into a new one. It’s been a lot. It’s been really good. And really hard. I guess that’s usually how life is šŸ™‚ I’ve barely been painting, and my soul can really feel it. So I’m eager to start a new chapter in a new studio. Cheers to life šŸ„‚ Thanks for being here.

New studio incoming!!! šŸ“¦šŸŽØ I’ve loved my current studio at @continuum.art.studios and I’m going to miss it a ton, but over the next few weeks, I’ll be packing and moving to my new studio at the Foothills Art Center in Golden, CO! I’m really excited for this next season in a new studio - I could use a fresh start. But this move is really bittersweet and the end of a big chapter 🄹 ART FRIENDS IN THE AREA: I’ll be having a big studio sale with a bunch of art supplies, studio furniture, and festival booth supplies that I no longer use or want to bring with me to the new place. I’ll be selling stuff super cheap since I just want stuff to go to someone who will use it. I’ll keep you posted on what will be included! šŸ—“ļø My plan is to do this studio sale on Saturday May 9th! And if you’re looking for a studio in the south Denver/Englewood area, let me know and I can pass along your info to the owners of @continuum.art.studios - it’s such a great spot and I have nothing but good things to say about the building and the other artists there.

Big paintings are in the works! I’m going to need a trailer this year to transport them to festivals, but it’s so worth it because I love painting so big!

I painted ā€œA Free and Happy Heartā€ (18x24in) last June after a camping trip in Ouray. We did the via ferrata while we were there and it was the most fun I’d had in years. Have you ever been so enamored by your surroundings that you can’t help but laugh? Smiling just doesn’t cut it. That was me - suspended on cables over a roaring river deep in the canyon. And so I had to capture that day in paint as a way to mark a really good memory. 🩵

Art festival applications are in! Well, about half of them. I’ve applied to seven so far, been rejected to one, and have about eight more to apply to in the coming months! I’m hoping it’ll be a busy year! šŸ™ƒ Stay tuned for my event schedule, loads of new work, and BIG work!!

The making of ā€œWandering in Your Warmthā€ - the painting that started my obsession with trees. šŸ™ƒ The reference photo for this one was taken on a fall hike with two of my best friends (last photo - unedited, which is crazy because it’s like a rainbow of color). It was an easy hike, or at least it was easy for us because we didn’t make it to the top. We were losing daylight and a storm was rolling in, so we turned around about halfway through. But that didn’t matter. The company mattered. The earth changing color all around us mattered. The fresh mountain air among the pine trees mattered. I love that memory of us wandering together, and this was me trying to capture it in paint. I finished the painting last May, just in time to put her in my solo show ā€œWandering,ā€ and then she travelled with me around the state to some art festivals over the summer. We had a good time together, but she found her forever home recently ā˜ŗļø ā€œWandering in Your Warmthā€ 24x30in - SOLD
