New haircut, same distain for meta.
Hey y’all, it’s time for a little check in. The last few months have been quite the year. Metro surge was so horrendous and also so inspiring. Minnesotans have become more connected (on and offline) and we really came together in a powerful way. It’s been traumatizing but I have hope for humanity after seeing the resilience of Minneapolis. I’m grateful my work has allowed me space to engage in mutual aid and my community.
I’m so much happier to not be living on the gram, putting energy into sorting which bits of my life I share and how often. Instead, I’m just living my best life, without an audience, and I love it. There are so many horrors happening, all around the world, and I’m not letting the algorithm lead me through them. I will continue to drop in from time to time but my attention can’t live here.
I love connecting with you all, seeing your art and celebrating your wins. So if anyone knows of another spot to do that, let me know. Being in a room together is pretty rad, too. I check my DMs every few days and can still be reached.
I’m still out in the world, capturing best sides and inspired by all of you beautiful people. I love getting to create with you and am excited for another busy season!
If you’re still reading, hoping to learn the reason I chopped my hair off - I’m a faggy dyke with big step dad energy. It seemed fitting. (Cred to @fr.izze at Moxie)
Thank you for being here! I love you!

Wedding season is upon us and I'm so excited to celebrate your love!
J & T's wedding at the @vandusenmansion was incredible and I have so many images I want to share from their joy filled day. Here's just a few favorites from the first part of their celebration.
You best believe your fur babies will be included in your home session. These sister cats, Mary Kate and Ashley are now sharing their parents with two new babies!
The twins are here and I'm so excited to meet them!
When it comes to maternity sessions, I love to do a simple & sweet home session and then come back a couple months later when the baby (or babies!) is here for a newborn session. These sessions are focused on nostalgia and capturing a very short, yet magical, time in the life of your growing family.
It's all about telling the story of what your life looks like now, without the fluff or babies in costumes or baskets, so years from now when you're looking back, you are taken right back to that moment, as it really was.
This is why I say, "yeah we can have a rain day reschedule- but what if we just went for it??"
Even if the sun isn't out, even if it's wet, even if it's chilly, even if it's so foggy we can't see the light house! We can always dip into your favorite establishment and warm up if we need to 😉
The magic comes from the love between you two, not perfect weather and scenery. And the best part of leaning into unideal weather- we had the sites all to ourselves!
I'm always happy to reschedule, but also happy to try it out and if it's horrible, we can do it again!
Upcoming travel!
My summer schedule is filling up fast! I'm just about maxed out on 2026 weddings and don't have any more weekends left open. I'll be traveling out of state for some exciting elopements and camp weddings! It's going to be a great summer.
I'll be in Maine May 27-June 1
Iceland! June 13-19
Colorado July 2-6
Vermont Aug 26-Sept 9th
New York Oct 2-4
If you'd like to book a session this summer, don't wait!
Also a heads up, for my birthday this year I'm giving myself a little raise and will be raising the bottom price on my sliding scale. Book before 6/9 if you want in on my current rates!
*Edit* this was a scheduled post and not meant to distract from the current devastation happening in Mpls right now. Please turn your eyes to what is happening on the ground. FUCK ICE.
Newly wed portraits are a fun little moment for you to step away from the chaos and just be obsessed with your person
It all happens so fast. You spend months, maybe years planning this day and it flashes by in an instant. I'm here to catch all the little moments so you can be present at your wedding, and then you can look back at your day in detail.
You know, there really are no rules. You can have a photo session like even if you're already married. As a matter of fact, I think you deserve one. Every day is a great day to celebrate your love!
