Church ➡️ Hotel. Welcome to The LINE in Adams Morgan, Washington, DC! Built in 1911 for the First Church of Christian Science this building was designed by the architectural firm of Marsh & Peter in the Neoclassical style.    The church relocated in the 1970s and the building went through decades of vacancy. In 2013, it was purchased by developers and The LINE Hotel opened in 2017.   —— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #AdamsMorgan #WashingtonDCHotels #historicbuildings

The Queen’s Staircase, also known as the 66 Steps, is a popular tourist attraction in Nassau. While it is a great photo opportunity, I was more interested in the history! —— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #thebahamas #historicplaces

There are so many original pieces inside The LINE, a hotel in Adams Morgan that was once a church. I love how they found creative ways to reuse many of the original elements to better suit the building’s new purpose. Who has been to The LINE before, either to dine, stay, or for an event? I’d love to hear what your favorite part was! —— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #AdamsMorgan #WashingtonDCHotels

Comment “RT 66” to see my full itinerary from this trip I took through Oklahoma to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66!  If you’re looking to dive into American history, art, and culture then you have to take this three-day road trip through Oklahoma!  These photos are from the second half of my trip.  I went to the Filling Station, which has been beautifully restored, and signed the guest book after admiring the classic cars.  Then I visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum @okcnm , which was the most moving and informative memorial of any I have seen. Truly, I have not been anywhere like it.  I finished day two with an incredible dinner at Roosevelt’s in Tulsa @rooseveltstulsa and if you go, be sure to get the ahi tuna nachos!  On day three, I visited the Claremore Museum of History @claremoremoh , which is an exceptionally well done museum and Ed Galloway’s Totem Pole Park, a fantastic work of American folk art and a typifying example of a roadside attraction.  I finished my sightseeing at the historic Coleman Theater which was SO much fun and a must see for anyone who loves historic architecture and/or theater. I highly recommend taking a tour to learn the full history – you won’t regret it!  I wrapped up my trip on a high note with dinner at Smoke Woodfire Grill @smokewoodfiregrill . I had wings and a delicious steak!  For the full three-day itinerary for this Oklahoma Route 66 road trip, be sure to comment “RT 66”!  -—— #BestAddress #Route66Centennial #OKRoute66 #ImagineThat

Comment “RT 66” to get my full itinerary for my three-day road trip down historic Route 66 in Oklahoma. If you’re looking for a trip that embodies America’s road trip culture, look no further than Oklahoma! I had the best time sightseeing, shopping, eating, and most of all learning the history of one of America’s original highways. Did you know it was the first highway in the United States to be completely paved? This Oklahoma road trip was a great way to tap into the nostalgia of the automobile era with classic cars, diners, and all the best roadside attractions. Stops featured in this video: 📍National Route 66 Museum – Elk City, OK 📍Oklahoma Route 66 Museum – Clinton, OK 📍Mother Road Monument – El Reno, OK 📍Sid’s Diner – El Reno, OK 📍The Filling Station – El Reno, OK 📍Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum – Oklahoma City, OK 📍Coleman Theater – Miami, OK Remember to comment “RT 66” so you can get the FULL itinerary for this Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial road trip! -— #BestAddress #Route66Centennial #ImagineThat #OKRoute66 #StellerStories

Comment “RT 66” to see my full itinerary for my road trip in Oklahoma celebrating Route 66’s Centennial anniversary!  Did you know Oklahoma is home to the longest stretch of the original Route 66? That’s why it’s the perfect destination to celebrate the road’s 100th birthday!  These photos are from the first half of the trip where my first stop was Stockyards City. It was incredible to see all that western wear in one place!  That evening, I ate at the Cattleman’s Steakhouse @cattlemenssteakhouseokc . Their homebrewed beer was delicious and I got out of my comfort zone by trying the fried lamb testicles.  Day two was packed with museums, sight-seeing, and great food. I went to the National Route 66 Museum and then got a bite to eat at the Country Dove. When you go, you have to get the French silk pie – it can’t be beat!   After that, I studied up at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum @route66museum and learned all about the “Gateway to the West”.  If you’re in Oklahoma, you simply must stop in El Reno because my trip wouldn’t have felt complete without taking a photo with the Mother Road monument and eating the famous onion burger at Sid’s Diner @sidsdiner.elreno which was absolutely scrumptious!  Don’t forget to comment “RT 66” to see the full itinerary for this Oklahoma Route 66 road trip!  —— #BestAddress #Route66Centennial #OKRoute66 #ImagineThat

Photos from a day in Annapolis with brickwork expert Benjamin Curran of the Durable Restoration company! He showed me their work at Reynold’s Tavern and their past project at the Old Treasury Building. We walked and talked about bricks all morning, it was the best! It’s people like Ben and companies like Durable Restoration that keep these old buildings you and I love so much in tiptop shape! ——— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #restoration #historicpreservation #AnnapolisMD

It never saw battle but Fort Charlotte in the Bahamas was still one of the most formidable positions a British soldier in the late 1700s and early 1800s could be assigned. —— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #theBahamas #historicplaces #fort

It’s Throwback Thursday AND it’s now carousel season at Glen Echo Park in Maryland! 🎠 This carousel is not only historically significant because of its age, but also because of its role during the Civil Rights movement. The carousel opened for the 2026 on May 2nd and will be open for visitors until September 27th! ——— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #GlenEchoCarousel #Maryland #historicplaces
