Chicago! 🦋👁️ Join me this Saturday May 16 for my Artist talk on the occasion of my solo show “Un patio particular” at @andrewrafaczgallery
I’ll be in conversation con las chidas de @nati.work y @julieta_belazo moderated by @jenalsspace 🩶
“Un patio particular”, my first solo show in US, opened last Friday at @andrewrafaczgallery and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you for all the support y los besos y abrazos. It meant a lot to see all the people I love gathered around my most recent work. Les amo mucho. 🦋🤍
Special thanks to @jenalsspace@jenaljenaldolsondolson and @andrewrafacz my “partners in crime”, for believing in my work. Toda mi gratitud.
My solo show “Un patio particular” opens this Friday, April 10th at @andrewrafaczgallery from 5–8pm.
I’ll be showing what I’ve been working on over the past months! 🤍
A little text about the exhibition:
The word “patio” in Spanish carries multiple meanings: it can refer to a domestic courtyard, a schoolyard, or even a prison yard. It is an open yet contained space, often cemented, intended for recreation. “Particular” is equally layered—meaning private, but also peculiar, specific, or strange. Together, “Un patio particular”proposes a space that is both playful and ambiguous: a site meant for recreation that could be anywhere, yet where strange scenes are unfolding.
Across eight paintings, female figures inhabit an undefined open space that oscillates between playground, domestic exterior, and carceral environment. Moments of play coexist with tension, control, and negotiation—gestures that hover between care and aggression, alongside more suspended, contemplative states.
On view through May 30th.

In a country where private property is fenced off, and where the same type of fence is used to imprison innocent people, I imagine, finally witnessing its collapse.
