The first two paragraphs of Heather Cox Richardson’s Letters from an American overnight. Wondering if we will ever stop fighting the Civil War and at least amongst those in power it’s not looking good. Also wondering what the next Roberts Court case will be as they slowly attempt to re-impose Jim Crow as the de facto law of the land. Fair housing laws? Heart of Atlanta Motel? Brown v Board of Education? Looks like anything is possible under this court

Last night’s Colbert monologue was brilliant as ever, including the Friday Night Lights reference and especially the send-up on Krash Patel …. but the thing to focus attention on this morning is Jon Ossoff on Rachel Maddow last night— the guy is such a gifted public servant and he’s not holding back in calling out the gravity of the situation right now. It’s easily findable on YouTube although (I realize this link won’t work on Instagram /OssoffGoingForIt)

Worth checking out this Substack from @joshcowenmi , one of our foremost experts on how politicians keep undermining our public education system. Andy Beshear some answers on strengthening and improving our schools — and if Kentucky can do it, everywhere can! And meanwhile, I think he is likely to get some traction when he runs for president next year 🗳️
