Some time ago, we shot a commercial for @visitestonia with DP @nikolayvonwestwood at beautiful Soomaa during springtime, when the fields are flooded for a few days. @nikolayvonwestwood had this crazy idea to rig the camera on the back of a canoe and walk around with it. Rickshaw rig, but on water.
Originally, we planned to use a newer plastic canoe, but then we found an old wooden one and decided to use it as our hero canoe. Surprisingly, the wooden canoe was much more stable than the newer ones and definitely sturdier.
Had this idea to use slider with ropes and pulleys to have straight move up and down. Of course it’s a mini version of it but just an idea how it would work out. Love to work with @buildmodulusx because it’s super easy to create something that seemed difficult or impossible before.
The Missile part two.
@meelisveeremets had a challenging and awesome idea to have the camera in a jet plane. Since the plane does not have a lot of room then @sonycinema with Rialto was the way to go. Main challenge was to put the camera so that it doesn’t block the ejection seat and controls. So we found a good position to put the body without taking the plane apart. We did two rigs. One was the fixed cam and the other one as you can see on picture/video - Rialto sits on griphead. @meelisveeremets did one round where he did handheld shots and it was a place where to rest the camera while taking off and landing.
