Patton’s Ghost Army always fascinates my students as we look at the often overlooked people who made victory possible. This new comic from @madcavestudios @manruss @pauljasonholden @bertacious is phenomenal - historically accurate (though a fictional story) , a human story that will emotionally involve students, art that makes immediate impact, and poetic writing that makes us think about the reality of war. This will be in my classroom and I am very much looking forward to reading the ongoing series and developing lesson plans and sharing at conferences. A great new series I started reading this week. From creative team: Mark Russell (writer), PJ Holden (pencils), JP Jordan (colors), and (letterer) Buddy Beaudoin. On the Mad Cave Studios imprint, we have "Dog Tag". A story about Private Tom Fuller aka "Dog Tag" and his tasks as part of the "Ghost Army" during WW2 in Normandy, France. If you've never heard the stories, they are fascinating and so commendable. I wish I had half the balls these men did, and to hear the stories as an adult, is both admirable, and interesting! He was also tasked at collecting the dog tags off of the soldiers that perished coming in on the ships. This was a great first issue. If you have any interest in WW2 and more stories from this period, this is the series for you! Howdy there, folks! It’s your oldest pal in the world Louis Southard, and I’m here to say that Midnight Western Theatre: The Complete Collection is REAL!!! After so many years, I’m very happy to finally have all of my old MWT stories under one book. Something that wouldn’t be made possible without YOU!!! So, thank you for helping a dream come true! I’m still waiting on FOUR (4) backers to correct their errored payments or else they’ll be dropped by May 10th. As soon as that sorts itself out, the pledges will sent out to all backers and once the taxes and whatnot are dealt with, shipping will be sent out immediately.  As I said in the prior update, you responding to the pledge email before May 15th is the difference between receiving your book this month or by September, as I am going away from the States. I really need your help and diligence on this matter, so please do your part and it’ll all run smoothly! Business aside, I really am pleased with how the printing of the book has turned out. As always, I spared no expense for higher quality paperstock and cover, so this mightly goth cowboy tome will be a fine addition to your bookshelf!  Once again, I’m so happy! Howdy there, partners! It’s your old pal Louis with a new update and I’m here to say...THANK YOU!!! This has been my largest Kickstarter yet, and I’m so thrilled it could be for my first ever comic brought back to life. After so many years, I finally get to have the story in one complete book and it’s all thanks to you guys! The journey of this comic has not been an easy one and I was admittedly scared to relaunch it on Kickstarter after I failed its previous Zoop campaign due to personal reasons. However, my confidence has returned tenfold and I really do appreciate all of you for believing in this project. Mushy-gushy aside, what’s the next phase? As of right now, I’m currently waiting on a few things. One is to officially launch the pledge manager, but I can’t do that until the Errored payments are corrected or dropped. This should be resolved by May 10th. Once that’s done, everyone must fulfill the pledge / tax survey and lock in their addresses. After you do that, I will send out your Digital PDF copy of the book immediately. Then, the real fun begins once the graphic novels arrive. They should be shipping out this week, so I’m expecting them incredibly soon. Which means your package will be shipped out in the coming weeks as long as you do your parts once the time comes. IMPORTANT NOTE: I will be leaving for England on May 16th and I will not be returning to the USA for a few months. If you do not fulfill your pledge when I send out the email, you are looking at a several month difference in ship time. So, please do your part and you’ll get your book this month as opposed to let’s say September. Thank you so much for all your support again and I can’t wait for everybody to get their books.
