Come see the show ♥️
Threads of Resistance on from Nov 4-15 11-7pm @withrowcommon
I have 2 pieces in the show, which exist in cohesive dialogue with one another.
Offerings- a multimedia piece, moulds of my hands cradle medicines I had grown and harvested throughout the years. They are in conversation with Miinan, a beaded piece that is inspired by my Niimaamaa.
Miinan, Together Again- video projection, created by overlapping videos of my time spent on my home territory as well as my time spent collaboratively building and designing a medicine garden space known as the weave and mend garden.

We are proud to introduce Bert Whitecrow (@bert_whitecrow ), our 2026 Curatorial Fellow at the Toronto Biennial of Art! 🎨 Bert is a Two-Spirit Anishinaabe artist and educator from Seine River First Nation (Chiima’aaganing). With a background in Indigenous Visual Cultures from OCAD University, where they received the 2022 Program Medal, Bert brings an incredible wealth of experience from their work at the Royal Ontario Museum and within community-led collectives.
Bert joins us as part of the Curatorial Fellowship Program, made possible by the generous support of TD Bank Group (@td_canada ) through the TD Ready Commitment. The Curatorial Fellowship Program was conceived in 2021 as a reciprocal mentorship model, empowering emerging curators to realize substantial projects in an international biennial context. By investing in the next generation of arts leaders like Bert, we are working to ensure the contemporary arts sector reflects the lived experiences of our diverse audiences.
Working closely with TBA 2026 Curator, Allison Glenn (@msallisonglenn ), we are thrilled to see how Bert’s vision and community-led approach will shape this year’s Biennial.
Welcome, Bert!

My Niimaa has been beading and working with leather for as long as I can remember. I would love to bring her things to Toronto so that she can vend at bigger events. She’s created so many beautiful pieces over the years- here are just a few that she has for sale.

🎶✨ Meet Our Leaders! ✨🥁
Folashade and Bert brought the heartbeat to life during our Black and Indigenous Wellness Series with traditional hand drumming songs! 🌿💖 Their passion and knowledge created a space to connect, learn, and celebrate our heritage together.
✨ Also, a special shoutout to Jada, our incredible project leader who isn’t in these pictures but played a vital role in communications and making this series a success! 🙏🏽💞

Copper plated jingles, cedar, and ice.
This was from a joint art show, Trajectories of Now, as well as a research project that I had the pleasure of taking part in back in June 💕
I figured I should post more of my art with the intention of doing more art shows as well as collaborative projects 🦋
