We did it!!! Thank you so much to everyone who came along and made The Hip Hop Civic Cypher come alive. What an absolute blast we had!
I can't thank everyone enough for making my dream of bringing together all the elements of hip hop with all the vibrancy and talent that Canberra has to offer, that is, the people of Canberra, truly come to life. I'm still beaming and replaying every moment of the day.

In today's age of modern hip hop, I think it's easy to forget the simple roots of hip hop as connecting with community through creative expression of the different art forms (break, MC, DJ, graff) that developed from a time of shared struggle and experience. It's easy to get into the silos of each art form, focus on improving your craft, even focusing on just competing/battling, and forget, we're all just navigating this complex world together and these art forms came out of trying to express ourselves in all the chaos and confusion, and finding connection and direction through it all.
