Reflections on improv and life! So excited to partner with Haus of Comedy for this series that is near and dear to my heart. “Whereas once I felt a pull to present myself and feel heard, accepted, agreed with, I now aim to return my focus to creating space to take in fully what is around me and let it impact and change me. I still care deeply about meaningful interactions with others, AND I’ve grown in my capacity to engage in them as my full self.” Link to full article and workshops in bio!

Improv workshops for people who think “I could never!” It’s an opportunity to play with the tools and skills in improv without the performance. Seven years practicing this art form it’s so clear to me how this regular practice shows up in all areas of my life: interpersonal relationships, work, goals-setting. I find more confidence, more play, more authenticity in every area of my life. Each workshop stands alone with a direct topic and the full set builds out a series of different skills and takeaways I’ve gathered and would love to share! Come out and play! Saturday, April 25th, 2-5 PM Embodied Listening & Presence A practical, playful lab focused on strengthening listening, attention, and responsiveness in dynamic conversations. Saturday, May 9th, 2-5 PM Clear Communication Participants explore how clarity, framing, and adaptability shape communication outcomes in real time. Saturday, June 20th, 2-5 PM Self Love and Trust Use improv techniques to notice, challenge, and shift internal narratives that impact performance and confidence. Saturday, July 18th, 2-5 PM Authentic Expression An exploration of voice, embodiment, and self-expression to support confidence and clarity in professional and creative settings. Saturday, August 22nd, 2-5 PM Confident Public Speaking An applied approach to public speaking that emphasizes adaptability, presence, and connection over perfection. Saturday, September 12th, 2-5 PM Collaborative Relationships A relationship-centered lab using improv to trust, clarity and co-creation, skills that translate directly to teams and communities. Head to the @hausofcomedysac website to register!

The cast of Super Scene wrestles with demons at practice… which story will you vote to the end?! Five directors. One winner. Countless characters. Join us for a night of genre-spinning, story-twisting improv where YOU help decide which tale gets told to the end! In a Super Scene show, five directors are each in charge of directing their own separate multi-scene storylines, giving guidance and grief to the improvisers bringing the story to life. Vying for the audience’s favor, directors and storylines will be progressively eliminated throughout the show, until only a single director remains to complete their storyline with a final Super Scene., If you’re a fan of live improv comedy and looking for a fun night out with friends or fun date night in Sacramento, this is the show for you! Make it a full night of comedy! Your ticket also gets you into all of our other shows for the evening! We will stamp your hand to ensure you can come and go. Where: The Eagle Theater - 921 Front St, Old Sacramento - California Historical Landmark #595.

This workshop is a practical, playful space to practice: * saying what you mean, verbally and nonverbally * staying grounded so can respond in the moment * feeling your own energy and that of others to see how it shifts the message We’ll use simple improv-based exercises to explore how we listen, speak, and show up with others. This is for you if: * you think a lot before you speak * you want to feel more confident in conversations * you want to practice expression with others Details: 📍 Location: The Eagle Theater 🕒 Time: 2-5PM 👥 Small group (8–15 people) ✨ No experience needed Register on the @hausofcomedysac website; direct link in my bio!

April’s Improv for Real Life Topic: Embodied Listening and Presence! I always think it’s fun and ironic that improv taught me to listen to understand instead of perform. For a long time I struggled with the balance of trying to present myself in the best light AND come away feeling heard, accepted, agreed with. I now focus on creating space to take in what’s around me more fully, and to let it impact and change me. I more easily trust myself to respond in ways that align with my values and trust others to see me fully. In any given scenario, I’m much less concerned with the outcome than with the process. If this resonates, this is something we’ll be exploring together on April 25! We’ll be using really sweet and accessible activities to practice and reflect on what it means to really listen: to others and ourselves. It’s designed for any curious human, no performance background or experience required! Secure your spot by registering on the the @hausofcomedysac website. Direct link to the workshop in my bio. Hope to see you there! ✨

Last Sunday, I had the privilege of supporting the Bereavement Network Resources of Sacramento (@bereavementnetworkresourcessac ) through the facilitation of their board retreat. We met at the beautiful Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights and focused on identifying strengths, connecting and visioning for the upcoming year. About BNRS BNRS is a long-standing community resource for the greater Sacramento area. They provided support and resources to folks in times of greatest need. In addition to their biennial Community Bereavement Resource Directory, they support a variety of grief-oriented professionals through networking opportunities and connections. I’ve been to their two most recent Quarterly Networking Events and was blown away by the speakers and connections in the room! This year they are hosting the “Good Grief Gala” on August 29th.
