These two clown fish live in a depth of 35 meters on the Numidia wreck, Big Brother Island.
The Numidia sank in 1901 while sailing from Liverpool to Kolkata. Smashing British ships into Egyptian reef systems seems to have been something of a national sport around one hundred years ago when the Dunraven, the Carnatic and the Numidia all came out worse following collisions with these timeless ecosystems.

In November 2021 I spent one week on @blueplanetliveaboards newest ship „Blue Storm“. This was a shark trip. While Hammerheads and Longimanus were the stars of the show, I got lucky with this turtle shot.

What’s wrong with lionfish? Lionfish have become the poster child for invasive species. Researchers have discovered that a single lionfish residing on a coral reef can reduce native reef fish by 79 percent. These reefs are already struggling from the effects of climate change, pollution, disease, overfishing, sedimentation, and other stressors. The lionfish is giving coral reefs the final blow.

The king of the reef. Napoleons are very long-lived fish. Females can live to around 50 years, and males to around 45 years. They are considered to be conservation dependent, meaning that their survival is currently dependent on human intervention.

Bottlenose Dolphins in the Red Sea. Fun fact: Dolphins sometimes have traffic accidents. Even though it’s rare, it can happen. And when it does, it can be fatal.
