Hey everyone! Meet our Globe Discovery Scholar Roy Yao who is a junior at the University of California Berkeley! Roy recently studied abroad doing research at NTHU in Taiwan 🇹🇼. He utilized optical patterns of gold nanoparticles under TLM and deep learning computer vision models to aid microfluidic devices’ reading computationally!

Hey there! Get to know our Globe Discovery Scholar Panithan Lertsuntivit who is a senior studying at the University of California, Berkeley! Pathan recently studied abroad doing research at NTHU in Taiwan 🇹🇼. As part of the Yang Lab for Biomechanics, he designed an experiment to further study the fluid mechanics behind cuttlefish ink flow patterns.

Meet Lucia Greenland and Michael Filgas, two Berkeley materials science engineers who spent their summer in Shenzhen, China through the GLOBE Discovery Scholarship! 🌏
Lucia, a second-year, worked in a research lab testing lithium-based batteries, while Michael, a third-year, studied biopolymers in a materials lab at Southern University of Science and Technology. Along the way, they gained hands-on research experience and explored life in one of China’s fastest-growing tech hubs.
