A Commencement Evensong was held in Marquand Chapel, together with the conferral of diplomas and certificates and the awarding of prizes, followed by a reception at the Berkeley Center.
Five Berkeley MDiv seniors presented their thesis research to friends, students, and colleagues on the back porch of the Berkeley Center. 👏👏

Berkeley at Yale hosted a joyful Festal Eucharist in Marquand Chapel this week in honor of Dean Andrew McGowan and Professor Felicity Harley-McGowan, with Past Presiding Bishop Michael Curry ‘78 MDiv preaching. More than 250 gathered for worship and celebration, including the Berkeley Board of Trustees; The Rt. Rev’d Jeffrey Mello, Bishop of the Episcopal Church of Connecticut; The Rt. Rev’d Julia Whitworth, Bishop of the Diocese of Massachusetts; The Rt. Rev. Ian Douglas, retired Bishop of the Episcopal Church of Connecticut; and The Rt. Rev’d Andrew St. John, Bishop of the Diocese of Melbourne, Australia.
So much gratitude for the Berkeley at Yale Chapel Ministers and Hospitality Ministry Team.

The final week of spring term included two final sermons within the Berkeley community.
The Very Rev’d Andrew McGowan, outgoing Dean of Berkeley at Yale, preached his final Wednesday Community Eucharist in Marquand Chapel, and senior Nelson Pike ‘26 M.Div., who is a candidate for ordination in the Diocese of Massachusetts, preached at Friday Morning Prayer in St. Luke’s Chapel. Dean McGowan preached about how we recognize the risen Jesus in the breaking of the bread. Nelson Pike reminded the students that ends are also beginnings.

On this final day of classes, Berkeley seniors concluded Senior Spirit Week by donning Berkeley colors and offering an avalanche of “Announcements” at Morning Prayer (iykyk). Nelson Pike ‘26 MDiv preached to all hearts.

The Berkeley community came together for an especially poignant Community Eucharist, at which The Very Rev’d Andrew McGowan served as preacher and celebrant for the last time at Wednesday Eucharist as Dean of Berkeley at Yale. A community meal celebrating Dean McGowan and Professor Harley-McGowan followed at the Berkeley Center.
