Preservation Month is all about celebrating the buildings that stand the test of time. For over a century, we have helped restore and preserve some of the most iconic spaces in our communities - honoring their history while getting them ready for what’s next.
Take a look at our latest project at The Banc, Hammond Indiana’s first skyscraper.
For 115 years, we have believed that great teams build great projects.
Women have long played an important role in our story - bringing leadership, expertise, and collaboration to every corner of our company, from the office to the jobsite
As we celebrate Women in Construction, we’re proud to recognize the talented women who continue to shape our projects, our teams, and our future. @nawicnational
We’re proud to give a shoutout to Josh Schoon for bringing both style and heart to @deltathetatau annual Delta Dudes charity event. Josh raised over $8,000 in support of the @valpoparks , helping invest directly in parks, programs, and spaces that strengthen our community.
The impact didn’t stop there as the event raised more than $42,000 total for local nonprofits, proving that a little friendly competition and a lot of generosity can go a long way.
Well done, Josh, and kudos to Delta Theta Tau for continuing to create fun, meaningful ways to support causes that matter.
We are proud to play a leading role in the ongoing restoration of the iconic House of Tomorrow at the @indianadunesnps , working alongside @indianalandmarks , @bklarchitecture and @wjeassociates to bring new life to one of the most celebrated structures in the Century of Progress Historic District. This National Parks Service project continues to honor a legacy of forward-thinking design and architectural imagination.
A key milestone in this restoration has been reviving the home’s distinctive glass façade, an essential feature of the original 1933 World’s Fair design that once captured international attention. In partnership with @trout.glass our team installed new glass that matches the original profiles while meeting today’s performance standards. Throughout the process, we protected the historic details, built for Midwest weather, and continue to keep the spirit of the House of Tomorrow alive.
🔨 Crafted new. Inspired by the past.
We had the honor of fabricating and finishing custom millwork for the Carnegie Library in Waukegan, IL—now home to the Waukegan Historical Society. In partnership with @berglundconstruction , every piece was thoughtfully designed to honor the architecture’s original soul—while being entirely new from the ground up.
🪵 The Finish
Each component was hand-brushed with a custom blend of Mohawk Van Dyke Brown and Burnt Sienna stains, allowing the color to settle naturally into the grain. No wiping—just control, patience, and craftsmanship .
🪚 The Final Touch
Sealed with a fine layer of shellac and brought to life with Sutherland Welles polymerized tung oil in a medium sheen, the finish delivers a timeless, museum-quality glow—built to last and built to belong .
📚 A heartfelt thanks to @berglundconstruction for the collaboration on a project that celebrates both history and craftsmanship.

We are proud to lead the development of a new 100,000-sf Behavioral Health Hospital—bringing 144 much-needed inpatient beds to the region.
To meet the fast-paced timeline, we’re leveraging modular construction with prefabricated bathroom pods from BLOX. Integrated via BIM modeling, these pods streamline installation, boost efficiency, and reduce on-site labor—driving innovation every step of the way.
In the world of restoration, it’s easy for many contractors to avoid “the deep dive” into complex issues. But not Eric.
At Berglund, we set ourselves apart by taking the time to truly understand the situation. When a property owner calls us, they can trust that they’ll receive not just a solution, but a solution that’s grounded in honesty and transparency. Eric’s ability to break down even the most intricate problems into clear, understandable terms is a key reason why our clients continue to rely on us.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the hardworking technicians who keep our buildings cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Thank you to all the HVAC techs for your invaluable contributions to the construction industry. Happy National HVAC Tech Day!
