We shot this last summer, so obviously the perfect time to post it is a year later!!! 🤭 We proudly present to you “The Dead Plant”!! @catmany wrote a sequel to our original sister vs. sister piece and we loved making this so much. At first viewing, this spot seems very simple and straightforward, but in reality it had a ton of different ways to cut together. It was a real labor of love from everyone involved. This ad changed my career. I was the lead AE on the project, and I edited this particular spot. From the beautiful footage of graffiti art, to the use of GROUPLOVE's music, this whole campaign taught me that yeah...commercials can be fun! It’s the fifth anniversary of the premiere of the short film "Here Lies A Drunken A**hole,” which premiered at the @gardenstatefilmfestival and was nominated for best ensemble. It has some of the best editing work I've ever done, including sound mixing and finishing, and I’m still very proud of it. If you want to watch the whole 24-minute short film, the link is in my bio. Back in 2019, my career as an editor took off with this campaign. I received an incredible set of storyboards, fun energetic footage, and the freedom to cut this how I wanted. So I got to work with the song "Sing Sing Sing" as my scratch music, and the end result is very much how I cut it from the start. The team at BBDO trusted me, and the result was a fun and effective campaign.
