The entrance of my exhibition 'Deep Dark Dank' @casinoluxembourg The show is closed due to Covid-19 situation but hopefully the show will be extended once lock-down restrictions are lifted.

"Deep | Dark | Dank is an immersive installation by artist Ben Wheele. Using a range of digital animation techniques, Wheele constructs a fantastical world of sinister creatures, dark humour and grotesque body horror. His work is often found lurking in the ‘dark side of Youtube’, a little-known zone of mysterious videos, which generate all sorts of conspiracy theories and terrified reaction videos online.
Alongside his previous films, the installation features his latest project Top 5 Animation Containers. The work mimics the format of a Youtube ‘countdown’ video to explore how viral memes evolve. In particular, Creepypasta stories (online horror stories spread through ‘copy and paste’) and Dank Memes (exceptionally odd / unique memes)."

A photo from inside my installation, 'Deep Dark Dank' @casinoluxembourg . Visitors entered a 'Dank Alleyway' filled with sinister creatures, animation, sounds of dripping and distant cats meowing. A dark-web fairground attraction. Thanks again to everybody involved with the setup, and special thanks to @rachela_maclean for the invitation. Deep Dark Dank - UV Prints
Some of the large format fabric prints created for my installation, 'Deep Dark Dank' @casinoluxembourg . They were created using a bespoke UV-reactive ink process, made possible by @uvgear . Eventually these were all cut-out and mounted in the exhibition as free-standing characters.
