For many years, I was often asked if I could play the theme to Benny Hill. As decades and centuries went by- I finally decided to figure it out. And as the song title indicates- it’s very much a tribute to the late great King Curtis’ soloing prowess on “Yakety Yak.” What a classic!
Thanks for the 🎥 Brice Kelsch

Some of my thoughts on the greatness of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I’ve always felt that his voice sounds like a musical instrument. I think that ministers, preachers, pastors, and reverends don’t get enough credit for their musicality in both their speaking as well as their singing. This goes especially for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King has always been my favorite leader and my favorite spokesperson for We The People. I think this is important to take into consideration in current times. Often times I will see current politicians and public figures try to make it seem that they are “of the people” but I find that this is usually quite fake. Whereas Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived as a second-class citizen and was able to empower the oppressed and the downtrodden.
Lastly, I think of a lesser-known MLK quote that I feel can play a part in helping the USA to somehow miraculously break free of it’s current crisis. The quote is-
“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a permanent attitude.”
In striving for justice, equality, fairness, liberty, and yes- even unity- I’d say forgiveness is a powerful step in the right direction. Something to think about.

The protest from this past Sunday was quite badass and was 110% peaceful. I hadn’t been to a protest in at least five years. I see how it is an enjoyable activity. I am a registered political Independent, I do not subscribe to either party, and I generally keep all things music on here. That being said- enough is enough. We can not afford to have violence from our own government. That is simply not who we are.
Ever since ICE began in 2003, I have always been against it. I was against the Patriot Act and all of the organizations (ahem- government overreach) that were created as a result. I specifically remember discussions with friends and teachers of how the Patriot Act, ICE, and the like, that it gave way too much government power and could cause a lot of problems in the future (to put it very lightly). Well, here we are.
For every ICE agent sent out to cause violent trauma in communities- we should instead send over a work visa or artist visa. And IF there really is a concern of “fraud”- then that’s an issue to figure out with paperwork. Pen, paper, brain. And back to the fraud thing- to the government, and especially to this administration, I say- look in the mirror.
Renee Good should still be alive today. This is a crisis and it needs to be acknowledged. Peaceful protests are the way to go. RIP Renee Good.
Greensleeves is my jam! I highly recommend Coltrane’s version and also Jeff Beck’s version. And in my opinion- yes, it is 110% a Christmas song. I suppose that’s up for debate. 🤷🏻♂️ Happy listening, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas! #greensleeves #whatchildisthis #christmas #holidayseason
I always loved the Duke Ellington version of The Nutcracker. And the John Kirby version too. I’ve played this at gigs a bunch over the years, most recently with the @hotsardines , of whom have re-ignited my interest in this great work of art. Happy Holidays to all! #thenutcracker
