Fauna/Banks II is a mix of solo and collaborative work by Benry Fauna and Imogen Banks. Continuing dialogue between the practices of two friends, this show is an exchange of materials, and an exercise in imagining their work in new contexts. Arriving from different approaches of duplication and manipulation, both Banks’ and Fauna’s processes lend to each other, creating surreal mixed media works. As a follow-up to their collaboration in 2024, Fauna and Banks celebrate their community of lovers and friends through portraits and a shared interest in exhibiting work made outside their comfort zones - something that feels vulnerable, but easier when done alongside a good friend. Imogen Banks is a fiber artist and painter who is interested in the creation of an abstract and subtle visual language through her work. She uses cotton rope to make 3 dimensional vessels, as well as weaving techniques within her paintings. Staple Goods Collective member since 2021, she lives in New Orleans, LA. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 2014 with a BFA in Painting. Solo exhibitions include - Ditch Projects in Springfield, Oregon in 2015, Artsdigital in Eugene, OR in 2016, and Staple Goods in New Orleans, LA in 2022, and 2025.
Benry Fauna is a portrait photographer who uses mixed media and digital collage to explore how we engage with the physical image. Using linens and satins to achieve an atmospheric viewing experience, He then implements resin to manipulate textures and reshape prints as a pragmatic way to explore forms of expression. Living in New Orleans by way of Pittsburgh, Fauna graduated from Edinboro University in 2013 with a BFA in Photography and Art History.
