It’s a week away — Benjamin Rose’s Day of Giving on May 21!
A small sacrifice can have a big impact. On our annual Day of Giving, your gift will help reduce the Meals on Wheels waiting list, so more older adults in our community can receive the meals, care and connection they deserve. Just $9 provides one meal, and the first $2,500 in donations will be matched by the Benjamin Rose Board of Directors.
Donate in honor of an older adult who has shaped your life — a grandparent, friend, parent or neighbor — and extend their legacy of care to others. Your gift of any size will help ensure older adults can live safely and with dignity at home.

What a beautiful evening at @fairfaxmkt ! Last week, our Rose on the Go: Mother's Day Flower Arranging event was in full bloom! 🌷 Thanks to the incredible team at @bigheartedblooms , participants learned how to select, trim and arrange their own bouquets; perfect gifts for the special moms in their lives.
From first-timers to budding florists, everyone left with a handcrafted arrangement and a little more confidence to bring flowers into their everyday lives. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this evening so wonderful!

Happy Older Americans Month! This year’s theme, Champion Your Health, is a great reminder that staying healthy can start with simple steps — like moving your body, staying connected and finding activities you enjoy.
At Benjamin Rose, we’re proud to support older adults who are staying active and thriving every day — whether it’s line dancing, table tennis, volleyball, basketball or other fun ways to keep moving. Physical activity supports strength, balance, mental well-being and independence at every age.
This month, we celebrate the energy, resilience and joy older adults bring to our community — and we encourage everyone to find a way to get moving and champion their health.

Pacemakers can greatly improve quality of life by helping regulate an irregular heartbeat and reducing symptoms like fatigue, dizziness and fainting. Caregivers can support recovery by encouraging rest, watching the incision site for signs of infection and helping loved ones follow safety precautions. Learn more at the link in our bio.🔗
Benjamin Rose was proud to attend the @asaging On Aging Conference last month, connecting with aging services professionals from across the country and sharing innovative approaches to supporting older adults and caregivers.
Our team presented on key topics including telephone reassurance programs for homebound older adults, strategies for building connection through language and group engagement, and the economic factors impacting older Americans. We also hosted a Benjamin Rose reception, bringing colleagues together to exchange ideas and highlight evidence-based programs making a difference in communities nationwide.
Thank you to everyone who attended our sessions, stopped by to connect and helped make ASA a meaningful experience.
It takes a team! From early prep in the kitchen, to meals shared in the community room, our staff and residents make the Rose Center at King Kennedy a place of connection, care and nourishment.
As we finish out Volunteer Month, we'd like to shine a spotlight on Rhonda. Since 2021, Rhonda has been volunteering with Benjamin Rose. From delivering meals to making Senior Prom a success, Rhonda is often busy making a meaningful impact. When asked what inspires her to volunteer, Rhonda says “to serve one of our most treasured groups of people in a multitude of ways”. She especially loves the Senior Prom!
Outside of volunteering, Rhonda loves to travel, going to concerts, museums, gardening and spending quality time with her family and friends. A little-known fact about Rhonda is her love of the outdoors! She even owns an RV and enjoys camping and finding peace and beauty in nature. Looking ahead, Rhonda is excited to continue to travel in her RV, visit Santorini Greece, and a daring flying dress photoshoot!
We appreciate Rhonda and all of the joy she brings to volunteering!

April is Financial Literacy Month, a great reminder that it’s never too late to build confidence when it comes to managing money.
For older adults and caregivers, financial literacy can help with budgeting on a fixed income, planning for long-term care, navigating benefits and avoiding scams and financial exploitation.
