well something crazy happened last night at the @canadianfolkmusicawards and we got to read a speech for our producer and friend Ben, Producer of the Year
At our gig yesterday morning we got called “earnest” and brace yourselves, cause we’ve never felt more hearts-on-our-sleeves:
congratulations forever to @benplotnickmusic ; working with you was a dream come true and we are so full of love and pride and gratitude and laughter about this whole thing (what a speech, truly)
thanks a million to the CFMAs for making this weekend unforgettable. As Edmontonians, I don’t think we’ve ever been so happy to be in Calgary 😂
last year we got to make a beautiful record with friends old and new, and we are so thankful for them (though the true award recipient already thanked you we can’t do it enough): @jarredalbright@claire.lecocq@biboye.onanuga@theevstew@franalog@riverdale_recorders@kraitz@the_neon_eagle . and @yegarts made it all possible, which is so important these days
and just the biggest most endless wave of gratitude and celebration to everyone in this community. all the artists we know, awards nominated or not, work so hard with great love and thought and passion to make such important art. nothing is the same without it.
We are so deeply grateful. Three nominations at this year’s Canadian Folk Music Awards! Being recognized alongside so many extraordinary artists this weekend in Calgary is something we don’t take for granted.
