It’s over… for now!! ❤️ A massive thank you to everyone involved with @troublewithkids over the last 18 months & also the last 10 years. I started writing a sitcom in 2016 & last year @jacklandnoble invited me to bring a stage adaptation to @barnsleylamproom and I couldn’t thank Jack & all the staff at this beautiful theatre enough for all they have done!! Thank you to all the wonderful audiences for your support & incredible feedback, I’m blown away with the response. The cast were everything & more, so talented & had every audience member wiping tears of laughter & tears of sadness whilst having the audience on their feet going wild at every single performance. Finally to my amazing wife @zozonickless for EVERYTHING!! The play follows infertility & for anyone that has been through it, it can be a dark place but we always found the light, mainly through humour. A quote from the play “You know how to make me laugh when I don’t feel like laughing” is from my wife, I only know how to get through life with laughter, it’s all I’ve ever known. If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry and I don’t know about you but.. I prefer to laugh!! Then through all of this, the most important part, after numerous rounds of IVF, we have our glorious little boy & part of my job as his daddy is to make him laugh every single day. Another quote in the play “I can go on stage & make thousands of people laugh but making my little boy laugh.. nothing beats that” A dream of ours was to have our family when I started writing the show 10 years ago & Zoe brought our son Teddy for the last show, watching him play on the set (trying to switch on the fake TV to watch Bluey) will stay with me forever. Thank you Zo for never giving up on our dream. I’m excited for the future of this project, hopefully it will be seen by an even bigger audience as I’m proud of it & everyone involved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by @manchestertheatres Quotes taken from this incredible review… Trouble With Kids is jam packed with heart, humour, and humanity and is a beautifully written play.  It is a story driven character led play that delves into painfully difficult topics whilst equally killing it with some of the best, real, unpretentious humour seen on stage for a long time!   Written & produced by @bennicklesscomic whilst also performing the role of Marc brilliantly. @stephanie_ann_dooley plays Claire, a loyal & strong performance that shows the strength and makes her character so real. @now_tom_hudson_ delivers a down to earth & heartfelt performance that you’d be forgiven for forgetting it is actually a performance, and not a real person up there. Then we have @thesmellysinger alongside him as his partner Nat, giving one of the most emotionally charged, brutally real, performances I have seen in a long while. @steveroylecomic (Maurice) & @barbaranice42 (Irene) have the best one liners in the show, always delivered with perfect timing, Steve was everything you’d hope he would be & more. Janice is utterly brilliant and just so funny. @roxie_jackson_joel portrays Jen,she’s given a delicate storyline to navigate & I think she did so with real respect & dignity.  @jacklandnoble who also directs, brings us the larger than life agent Phil and is the perfect mix of hustle, showbiz, and loyalty.  Child star Ray Taylor was fantastic! He delivers with natural ease that is sure to make him a star! Completing the cast is @markolszewski as a multitude of brilliantly comic characters, each one is as witty, yet entirely different from the last. It is a play that I am sure will go on to huge theatrical success, but perhaps it’s biggest win will always lie in giving a voice to the impossible nature of life and letting those who are struggling with fertility know that they are not alone.

OPENING NIGHT!! Can’t believe it’s finally here, apologies for all the constant posts about @troublewithkids (One more week, I promise) but I’m so proud of this play, after years of trying to get it either on stage or on screen, we’ve finally done it!! I hope you enjoy the story that’s based on REAL LIFE events that happened to either myself or some of our closest friends, a few twists for comedic and dramatic purposes but I think you’re gonna love it!! The cast we have, are simply INCREDIBLE, we’ve worked really, really hard and I just want to thank them all for their hard work, talent and creativity. A special mention and thank you to @jacklandnoble our director and co producer, he has been the brains behind this and I couldn’t have done this without you. You brought my little idea to a reality I never thought was possible. Finally, to my wife @zozonickless - you inspire me every single day, your heart is this show, you’ve also written possibly the best lines in the play (totally unintentionally of course, lol) I’m forever grateful for everything you have done and gone through to give us the family we always wanted, which is more important than anything else in life.
