@iamdeethoven sent me this clip… I forgot just how special that City of Refuge band really was.
Every now and then, I’d take my minister of music hat off… put my musician hat on and slide right onto the organ.
What made us different? AGGRESSION. That was intentional.
Anybody who knows me knows how much I love a strong guitar & Bassplayer….Agape & B-Dub… listen,they always applied the right amount of pressure. A real force.
We never played songs like the record for long. Give us a couple runs… after that, it became ours. That was the DNA. We took what was given and made it speak our language.
Pure nostalgia.
