The EP titled "New Dark Jazzer" presents a stark contrast to the jazzier strains of deep house that have been emerging in the Deep House music scene over the past few years. Benjamin has meticulously infused his roots from jazz fusion into his productions, crafting his own unique spin on deep house.
"New Dark Jazzer" opens up with a jazzy broken beat rhythm, lush chords, and a captivating atmosphere, setting the mood for a kind of spiritual experience where music takes you to new places. Some may find the track reminiscent of the sounds found in LTJ Bukeem's Earth Compilation during the peak of the Good Looking era.
"Drunken Lift Operator" lures us into romantic chambers of nostalgia with its beautiful, slightly fluttering piano progression complemented by a seductive saxophone, creating an enchanting atmosphere. As an arpeggiated baseline kicks in, the overall composition gets lifted to new heights.
