I had to share these wildly creative pots by @benjaminkeatingstudio — a potter I recently discovered at the 9th US National Bonsai Exhibition. His work is bold, imaginative, and totally outside the box.
Ben sent me this video, and honestly, my inner kid hasn’t stopped giggling at the thought of planting a tree in one of these! What a joy it is to witness the playful, fearless creativity of potters like him.

@benjaminkeatingstudio is a poet and sculptor born and raised in Brooklyn known for his expressive bronze cast bonsai trees. The whole tree-sculpture idea first came to Keating while vacationing in Maine, where he had visions of casting enormous trees in bronze. He began his journey in bonsai instead, developing a body of work that earned him the nickname the “Bernini of Bonsai.” In addition to making his own sculptures, and writing poetry, Keating owns a foundry in New Jersey, and is a master caster of bronze for, among others, the artists Robert Longo, Nicole Eisenman, and Terence Koh.
Emerging Movement is a celebration of contemporary art’s most innovative voices, bringing together a diverse group of artists who are redefining the boundaries of modern expression.
