After some time recovering at home, we’ve just about come to terms with the scale of Ben’s injuries. The issues are increasingly complex, he’s going to need a big mix of treatment and his rehab is going to be quite the journey. In this time, we’ve also been absolutely stunned by the support from friends & customers alike, who have donated to the GoFundMe page, which was amazingly set up by Tom Gunner, the shop’s Assistant Manager and great friend to us. Ben is completely aghast that anyone would do this for him, that people would show him support in this way, so thank you, everyone, for your care and generosity. We’ve both had messages of love and support from so many people, Ben’s heard them, but has found it hard to process, but he will do in due course. Huge thanks for keeping spirits up. Ben’s journey to recovery is going to span a long period of time, a lot of it unknown. He’s now suffering from nasty delayed brain injury on top of the facial injuries and loss of teeth. He will need time away from the shop as he starts the healing & fixing process, so a huge thank you to the staff in the shop for holding the fort, for digging deep and keeping customers rolling on their bikes. Please do continue to call into @mbcyclery , show the boys some love and grab a T-shirt while you’re there. Huge love to our community, the strongest crew we’ve ever known ♥️

We’ve been working 1-1 through winter and the progress has been amazing, from barely being able to lift 5kg on a leg press to being able to sprint on the bike better than before I injured my knee.
