I made a new friend @benisneckdeep 🛹 I spent the day skateboarding, talking shop and hanging out with the lead singer of my all time most listened to band @neckdeepuk . I wanted to sit down with Ben beyond the fact he and the band had been in my ears since my skateboarding teenage years. Ben fronts a band that has been streamed billions of times touring from Brazil to Japan selling out a home country run in the UK. I’d say really owns the pop punk genre. However he doesn’t speak and act in the way you think he might. He’s deeply socially integral, cares deeply about art, his influence on a genre that brings a healing community and uses his songs to unite society on his way. In this episode we yap between skating about identity, expression, skateboarding culture, working classism, right & left politics, compassion, @chrisjoslin_ , @aaronjawshomoki , comedy and the pitfalls of fame. He talks about ethics in the industry and why artists have a duty of care and composure. I spent the day getting to know Ben and the bands origin story. The genre is known for prodigals from the US from LA to Midwest but this phenom band emerged from the trenches of Wrexham, Wales. Created in the family house Ben and his brother @sebizcelestial produced the first tracks that means so much to us all. We shot this in a FUCKING skatepark. @theloadingbayglasgow This is mad. I grew up on the fringes of society skateboarding. It was a home away from home when times were tough. I didn’t feel like I belonged growing up and skateboarding and neck deep allowed me to find solace in a community thats uniformity was misfit. In all the right ways. I don’t think anyone in the world has made a podcast like this. In a skatepark with a band whereby skating is at both the start and heart of their journey. This was shoot beautifully my OS boys. Cinema grade on videography (@fotofinura ) and @alljustpaul killed BTS stills. I’m so very proud of this. It’s a sacred ep to me and it would mean a lot if it reached the right people. LNOTGY tour was the perfect way to see out 2025. A nice reminder of where we started, how far we’ve come and how much we’ve still got to give. I can’t thank everyone enough- our fans, our team, our crew, our friends and families for the support over the year(s). There’s been ups and downs but that ultimately makes for a fun ride. Been a big year of growth and discovery for myself personally, again, ups and downs but thankful for it. I hope to carry that into 2026 which will be a little quieter for us on the touring front, but that doesn’t mean we’re taking a break.
