A man who lives only for himself grows smaller. A man who loves others grows larger, happier, and more alive.
7 years ago I married my soulmate @daisyearlcomedy
She is my North Star. Not everyone gets to find their soulmate in this life. I found mine. She is the kindest, most beautiful person I know inside and out. And I am so grateful and proud she chose me!
I love you @daisyearlcomedy - thank you for making me the happiest man on earth every single day.
Trip to Ireland, any excuse for some Hi-Vis. 🇮🇪
Waterford, Naas, Kill, Dublin.
Got to stand on a bridge as it opened to let a tug boat through. Felt like a big kid.
Loved it.
If you'd like something heart warming for your Monday. My dog reacts to me coming home after a few nights, like I was away forever. She's too much 😍🩷 #dogs #cockerspaniel #bestfriend #cominghome
I just wanted to share a message to say that my amazing Nan, Celia Cawte, passed away yesterday.
She instilled a lot of the values I have in me. Looked out for and looked after me.
She worked hard her whole life. Raised kids, ran a business (a bakery). Some of my fondest memories of her were of riding around in her red Daihatsu van in the late 1980s, delivering bread rolls to hotels, pubs and AFC Bournemouth (who still owe her money, another reason I dislike that team).
She was kind, stoic, and always rose above any petty drama. She always told me that she was thinking of me at the end of every phone call. She came from a big Romany family, and I’m honoured and proud that I was able to be connected to that, and continue to be involved through charity work in the past few years.
She loved Elvis. And had an Elvis wall clock that I hope is in storage somewhere. She made me laugh. She always read The Mirror, never The Sun.
I’m a big believer in the phrase ‘nobody ever really dies’. You keep people alive by thinking of them, and honouring them in little ways.
So I’m going to try to keep doing what my Nanny Celia always did - working hard, being kind, and not sweating the small stuff (need to get better at the last one Nan - sorry).
I love you Nan. Rest easy, and say hello to Don, Tommy, Cynthia and the rest of the James family.
‘I’m always thinking of you.’
A big thank you to Thomas Dickinson for taking a pic of my visit to Withington Community Hospital, was a proud moment to see @bamukandireland ’s work on the largest development at #Withington Hospital in two decades.
I’m just a social media person, so my part in this was just to see the amazing work the teams do on a daily basis on site. Highly-skilled professionals who take their jobs seriously.
The new community diagnostic centre is going to give patients access to essential diagnostic services, allowing an extra 85k additional diagnostic tests every year.
It made me so happy to see this, having made Withington my home. I’m from Hampshire, but Manchester has always been home to me, and where my heart is.
Apologies to the poor person in this shot who I’m clearly boring with another terrible anecdote.
