It’s about time we start telling ourselves the truth! “Honour your father and mother” was never meant to become financial bondage. There’s a difference between giving from love and giving from pressure. 💭 The Bible encourages honour, generosity, and care for family but it was never God’s design for parents to continuously drain the very children they’re meant to help grow. A healthy tree needs roots downward before it can flourish upward. 🌱 If every fruit is taken before the tree matures, how will it ever become strong enough to provide for others? Black tax is a real conversation, but so is financial responsibility, wisdom, and breaking unhealthy cycles. Parents should desire to see their children build, grow, invest, and create stability just as they should have done for themselves. Sometimes the greatest gift a parent can give is allowing their children the space to become financially whole.
