I have this show coming up at the end of May, and it’s a really important one for me. We’re going to be celebrating the release of this album I made with

@louderstudios . The album is called “Born For These Times.” These songs are something that I’ve never really known how to make “public facing”. They’re songs that came to me over the last 15 years, and traveled with me through time like little spirit companions. They often come fully-formed, and I learn from them slowly as I meet them again and again whenever a guitar comes out around a campfire.
One of the things they’ve done around this album is bring some of my most important friendships and inspiring connections I’ve had together- both for the creation of the album and its release. There’s a band coming with John, Sara,
@ontheedgeofsomething @crystal_palace_acupuncture @weske.test performing them with me in a One Night Only fashion. I feel incredibly lucky to have such a crew of musical geniuses to lend their talents, and humbly proud that I’ve done whatever to make them feel it’s worth their time.
The same goes for
@ache_mono and
@wild_flowers_pdx , who both bring tremendously powerful beauty into the world with their music.
And Gabriel Taylor, who is offering this super rad, all-too-rare type of rebellious, loving, DIY space for the event to happen in. A space that our community knows we need but have fewer of, as crapitalism consumes everything. A 2-dollar ranier bar, the windows open so you can hear the music outside while you catch up with someone you are just now realizing you needed to run into tonight. A space that so perfectly reflects the anarcho-art community spirit Gabe brings to every moment he touches.
It’s gonna be a simple little thing. I used to take it all so seriously, which is maybe why I felt I had to back off trying to force these songs on the world like I did when was younger. I’m looking forward to sharing something meaningful to me with the world, and not taking it all so seriously because I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by some incredible souls who are walking the same road. And I hope that includes you.
