A few years back, a “little feller” (his words, not mine), decided to introduce the world to big ol’ me, and I’ll be damned if laughs weren’t had! As someone whose main drive has always been to entertain, it was incredible to stand beside one of the best in the biz and do exactly that for a couple of minutes. So… what was the goal with this one? Just frikkin doing it. Honestly, to not care about it being Shakespeare. To not try to PLAY Shakespeare… but to just live in the scene, as a guy going through a dilemma and working his way through it. Also, this was take 1 of 1. I’m working this year on doing more 1-and-done work, and disassociating from the outcome.

Watching it back how did I feel? I felt I could have been a bit more “weapons hot” with my emotional state… but all in all, I felt pretty good… good enough to post it, anyway.

Meet DUTCH (A138989) - a handsome under 2 year old neutered Belgian Malinois mix.

Dutch is AWESOME and incredibly playful. He loves to fetch, and is great in our Rough N Rowdy playgroup. His play style can be a little sloppy, a little grabby, and a little mouthy… which fits in perfectly with other rowdy pups.
.
When we feed him, we have to take special care to take his food bowl back quickly… or he will start tossing and slapping it around his kennel like a hockey puck. He’s also been known to move his bed from inside to outside - mostly because he gets bored and simply needs mental stimulation.
.
Someone looking to adopt this dog would preferably have experience with the Malinois or other working breeds, as they are wonderful but can be a HANDFUL if you don’t know how to properly keep their minds at work.

Meet BERTHA (A123546) - A shelter volunteer favorite! Bertha is a big gal, a Mastiff/Lab mix who absolutely LOVES to play fetch. Volunteers can spend over an hour just tossing the ball and letting her bring it back!

Bertha is also a member of the Day Hike crew. She is allowed to leave the shelter with specific volunteers, and gets experience out in the neighborhoods of Burbank this way. Volunteers have seen that she is a very focused dog, and prefers to be on quiet streets without a lot of other animal or bicycle activity. .
When others bark at her, she generally matches energy, and with her size and power, this could be daunting for smaller or older owner/caretakers. Mostly, though, she just wants to PLAY!
.
We think she’d be an amazing family member for a home with a yard which would allow her to spend ample time outside burning her huge stores of energy. She’d love it if her family would throw the ball for her everyday!
.
She’s also very fond of water - will drink straight from the hose, and also play in her water bowl… so we’d suggest her water bowl be OUTSIDE (or on a rubber pat the can catch the over-splash. She likes to lay in her kiddie pool, and I personally would love to find out if she’d fetch a ball in a full-sized pool.
.
I can’t say enough good things about this girl. She’s perfect for someone who wants an active, loving, but NOT CLINGY dog in their life. If that’s you, come meet BERTHA @burbankanimalshelter Tues-Saturday between 12p and 4p.

2021 - 1ADing Legend of the White Dragon - a scene which was originally unplanned, but a dream for our friend Jason that we were happy to make happen. He got to work with Michael Madsen, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play opposite his hero.

He was hyped for the day, and even more so with thoughts of being reunited with Madsen at the Premiere. We didn’t know we’d lose Jason a year later.
.
Today, I received word that Michael has also passed.
.
We have finally completed color and sound on the movie, and hope to find a distributor soon. Maybe once we do, that premiere can happen - but there will be two empty seats to match the two empty places in our hearts for these guys.
.
What a journey this film has been - long and arduous, but we made friends along the way. I just wish we could have all crossed the finish line together. Though, for a film about inner battles being waged and the pain that comes along with them, perhaps a fairy tale ending was never in the cards.

Godspeed to Michael and Jason both. You are legends… and Legends Never Die.

Wonderful time at the @peabodyawards this weekend! I’ve not had the chance to be in that room prior, and am so proud of the work of the committee, and The University of Georgia for celebrating the INCREDIBLE stories told by the artists and journalists honored this year.

Being exposed to this collection that puts on display the courage, disaster, grief, joy, exploration, truth, and really the whole gamut of human experience was profound for me. My last slide has a list of the honorees, and I encourage you to watch them.
