Join us this May for a fun making session – origami with our in-house master Bob
Adept at making origami animals, decorations, spaceships and dragons, Bob will demonstrate how to use various materials to create different structures and details.
Taking place monthly, BenchTalks are laid back creative sessions for everyone. Come along and try it for yourself!
We are absolutely delighted to have our cohort of 3 makers from the New Sparks programme beginning their 1 year residency this month.
This programme focused on digital tools began in February last year, with Debra, Zahra and Frederic successfully progressing through the programme phases to be selected for the residency which includes Maker 1 pass, studio access and stipend.
The makers have diverse creative projects planned, building on their personal backgrounds in furniture design, textiles and digital animation.
We can’t wait to see how their project flourish over the coming 12 months.

It was a pleasure to be part of the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival 2026..
Featuring hundred of free events around the city, the festival is a fantastic opportunity for adults to embrace new learning experiences in everything from arts and crafts, to technology, languages and sports.
For our part, jewellery tutor Nadine Lawton @ginger_fire_tutoring led a stamped pendant session, introducing simple yet effective techniques to get the group's creativity flowing.
We're proud to take part in a festival that reflects our values: making creativity easy and accessible for all.
We're delighted to welcome Amy and Jeffrey from Dublin Maker for a mini Benchspace takeover next week. The pair will host a 'Bring-a-Make' night - a sharing session where makers can bring an object or idea they're working on to share it in a fun and inclusive environment.
So come get amongst your maker community on Thursday next week - it's free to join and snacks will be provided!

Over a week late but still buzzing from a fantastic workshop hosted by @sende .
It was an absolute pleasure to spend the week with this creative lot, learning techniques in ‘low tech communication’, recentering our respective missions and sewing the seeds for futures collabs. Throw in some epic meals, games, outstanding hospitality, and so so much rain - and the environment for cozy co-creation couldn't have been better.
Thank you to all the participating hubs for everything you shared and to @creativehubsnet for bringing us all together.
