I recently saw NASA’s images of a comet disintegrating, and it somehow made me think of how incongruous it feels having a fulfilling and loving internal family life while externally fiscal humiliation and world horrors rage.

Children’s singer is about sliding past various environmental/socioeconomic points of no return while trying to stay positive for your children.
The source image was a still taken of Julie Andrews from the sound of music.
I printed a reference to make a 36” version of this originally intended for the exhibition “Promession” @vonammon but wanted to do new paintings. Maybe I will do the big one
