I wrote Solitaire for my friend Madi Diaz.
I pray everyone gets to have a friend like @madidiaz .
I met Madi in 2016 I had just signed my first record deal and we became instant friends. She has one of my favourite voices and singing with her is one of my lifeās sparkly joys.
Madi is also the person I call when I need to scream into the darkness because she is always ready to meet me exactly where Iām at and scream along. If you listen closely youāll hear her warm tones coaxing me to let go on my song California Drifting from Friendly Fire.
Shes an insanely brilliant songwriter and a true friend for the long haul and I wrote this song when she packed up her life in LA to leave chaos behind and go back to the sweet green hills of Tennessee.
