What a joy it’s been to direct my first ever Actor/Musician show.
SATURDAY NIGHT is the debut musical by Stephen Sondheim - a witty, jazz-infused tale of love, status, and the dangerous thrill of pretending to be someone you’re not. With book by Julius J. Epstein and Philip G. Epstein (inspired by Philip Barry), it follows a group of young, Brooklyn-born friends chasing Class and learning that authenticity might be the ultimate luxury.
I’ve been absolutely blown away by the skill, focus and good humour of the cast @gsa_actormusos
And thoroughly enjoyed being well and truly out of my comfort zone!
And then equally impressed by the technical teams @gsa_theatreproduction who guided us effortlessly through tech and into a staggeringly entertaining performance period.
