The latest book I’ve finished - Ibid: a life - Mark Dunn is my favourite writer - (I think, the title swaps around based on the movements of Saturn) I read his book Ella Minnow Pea a few years ago and loved it - Ibid has been on my gift list since then. Ibid is a biography of fictional circus performer turned business mogul Jonathan Blashette. Well it’s almost a biography - it’s actually the footnotes to a biography after the original manuscript got dropped in the bath. The result is a story told through trivia, anecdote and addenda, which you have to piece together from the “lost” cited lines. I have laughed at every page of this book and marvelled at how the story comes across from the breadcrumbs of the “surviving” text. It’s a story about working out who you are from all the little bits of you. Highly highly recommend.

The last week of March into April I had the utter delight of being part of a cast doing Nottinghams first ever large scale immersive theatre show. Thanks to @chronicinsanitytheatre I got to be Zeus - tyrannical king of the Gods, practicing man child and all round lightning boy. It was a blast - we had 7 sellout shows back to back.
