Been on the road a lot this last month and something I’ve learned is that sometimes charging forward isn’t the best course of action. Sometimes sitting back, taking a couple deep purposeful breaths and allowing life to teach you each lesson is best.

Came across this quote and it occurred to me that breath is the bridge between our mental and physical states.
It is amazing how when you are in the midst of a physically demanding task, your breath pulls you through. Conversely, when you are suffering from anxiety or panic, the breath can be a tool to find your way through a sudden attack.
This month, take a few minutes every day to close your eyes, take some deep intentional breaths and focus on how you feel. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be done. ##12pursuits #foreverforward #mentalfitness #breathwork

The morning light thing isn’t a wellness trend. It’s neuroscience.
Your circadian rhythm — the internal clock that governs sleep, mood, metabolism, and hormone production — is set primarily by light hitting your eyes in the morning.
Dr. Andrew Huberman has been vocal about this for years: getting outside within 30–60 minutes of waking, even on a cloudy day, sends a timed signal to your brain that anchors your entire circadian rhythm for that 24-hour period.
Cloudy days still count. Outdoor light on an overcast day is 10–50x brighter than indoor artificial light. Your biology responds to it in ways indoor light simply cannot replicate.
The downstream effects: better sleep onset at night, more stable energy through the day, improved mood regulation, and more consistent cortisol patterns.
This is free. It requires no equipment. It takes 10 minutes. The only reason most people don’t do it is they don’t know it matters.

Happy 12th birthday to the boy who made me a Mom! Teddy is intelligent, driven, confident, curious and funny. He loves his younger siblings and they look up to him in every way. He loves to play sports, read, be with his friends and has loved going to the temple this year. He is a great conversationalist and can (and will!) chat with any one of any age. There’s something really beautiful and strange about celebrating birthdays with your kids that you remember so well in your own life. I’m excited to see the person he is and who is becoming. Happy birthday darling boy!
In 2020 I was falling apart. Anxiety I didn’t know I had, racing thoughts about things I couldn’t control.
So I bought an @icebarrel , put it in my backyard facing East, and got in every single morning at sunrise for 30 days straight.
Here’s what nobody tells you about cold water and morning sun.
The cold hits like a full stop. Every anxious thought, every worst case scenario — gone. Your body has one job. Be here. Right now.
And with the sun coming up in front of you — warming your face while the water holds the rest of you hostage — there is nothing like it.
It’s stillness you can’t fake. Presence you can’t scroll your way to.
30 days later I was more patient, more calm, more myself.
I wasn’t looking for a spiritual experience. I just needed a different one.
