Mile 1100 - Lake Tahoe marks the end of the sierra section. It’s been a crazy ride taking on the sierra in the highest snow year on record. But the beauty has been unmatched. The constant views, all the lakes and swims, the sunrises and sunsets, the remoteness, and the challenge. What a journey. Time to move on to the next chapter and get out of California.
A few of the sunrises from the first week in the sierra. One of the benefits of having to get up early.

One month on the PCT, mile 500.
Crazy it’s already been a month. By this point strangers feel like family, miles feel easier, and food is a constant thought.
The next few days we’ll walk through the Mohave, the last stretch of the desert section. Then the slow climb to Kennedy Meadows and the beginning of the one month Sierra section.
Trail angel Bad Santa. - Bad Santa hiked the PCT in 2016 and has since spent as much of his time helping hikers as he can. He gives hikers rides from the airport, to and from towns along the trail, and even surprised us at mile 100 with fresh fruit, cold beer, water, and other treats. Thank you Bad Santa and all the other trail angels for all you do to keep us going!
