For context, my old PRs were: 564 squat 400 bench 647 deadlift Strong? Absolutely. Mobile? Absolutely not. 😂 Back then, I could move some serious weight, but I was also built like a heavily armored refrigerator. Powerful, but turning corners was questionable. And strength wasn’t the only thing I took seriously. I was also deep into competitive bodybuilding, so for years my training was built around being strong, muscular, conditioned, and stage-ready. Between powerlifting and bodybuilding, I spent a long time pushing my body hard in very specific directions. I haven’t pushed for a true 1-rep max in about 2 years, and I’m not really chasing that right now. But even cold, with no CNS priming, no hype music, no smelling salts, and no dramatic powerlifting ritual, I can still hit around: 315 bench 500 deadlift 450 squat The difference now is that I actually feel better. I’ve regained a lot of my mobility, athleticism, and overall movement quality. I don’t just want to be strong in one direction anymore. I want to be strong, move well, recover well, and not sound like a haunted house every time I get off the floor. That’s why my current program focuses on: Strength Hypertrophy Power Endurance Mobility Because at this stage, the goal isn’t just to lift heavy or look the part. It’s to build a body that still performs, still moves, and still feels capable for the long run. I’ve basically spent the last stretch completely “unfucking” my body — and honestly, I feel like I’ve gained some years back. Still strong. Still building. Way less stiff. Slightly less refrigerator. Much better operating system. If you’re looking to get stronger, move better, build muscle, lose body fat, or just feel more athletic again, I have limited availability for in-person personal training at @luxfitsf and online coaching. Message me and let’s get you moving, lifting, and feeling better. Online coaching also available

@angelalou_fitness distracted me and caused me to lose count. I thought I did 30😂 (ahem* collab and film some boxing contents soon?) I’ve been training pull-ups daily lately. The original goal was to hit 30 clean reps, but now I’m looking at 50 by the end of the year because apparently I like making life harder for no reason. Pull-ups have become a big part of my new training program because they check so many boxes: upper body strength, grip strength, core control, shoulder stability, lat development, posture, and overall athleticism. It’s one of those movements that tells you a lot about how well your body is moving and how strong you actually are relative to your own bodyweight. And honestly, I’m starting to feel nimble again. Strong, mobile, athletic — not just “gym strong,” but actually able to move. Now I’m over here wondering if I can still do a backflip tomorrow. It’s been ages since I’ve done one, and just thinking about it is already making my hands sweat 😂 But that’s the cool part about training with purpose again. You start chasing strength, mobility, power, endurance, and control… and suddenly your body starts reminding you that it still has a few tricks left.

Continuing the series of #DoingEverythingWithoutKnowingAnything… Last week, I tackled a much bigger and way more tedious job than I probably should’ve attempted: removing the entire front bumper, replacing the headlights, installing the fang lights, installing the new grille with lightbar, @bajadesigns s2 pod lights and mounting the @nytopusa bumper. I also planned on installing the @auxbeamlighting 8-gang switch panel that same day… because apparently I looked at the truck and said, “You know what this needs? More ways for me to be confused.” Mind you, I’ve never done anything even remotely close to this before. I started at 8 AM and wrapped up somewhere around 11 PM. Thankfully, my brother @angel_c_510 came through later that night and helped me get the bumper back on, because at that point I was no longer a mechanic — I was just a tired man holding bolts and questioning every life choice that led me there. Yesterday, I finally installed the Auxbeam switch panel and got the light bar and ditch lights wired up. I also ran the wire through the firewall for the front camera, which felt like a major victory considering half of this project has just been me staring at wires like they owe me money. The only thing I didn’t finish was the fang lights. The connections were either a little too short, or I routed and tucked everything a little too clean underneath the bumper… which sounds responsible until you realize I now have to remove the bumper again. So for now, everything is up and running except the fang lights. Oh — and I still need to connect the harness for the @alpharexusa headlights DRL, because apparently the taco wanted to leave me with homework. Next week, I’ll be installing the @lexland_official 14-inch multimedia system, which should be a nice upgrade from the stock 8-inch screen. Because if I’m going to be confused, I might as well be confused on a bigger screen. Slowly learning. Mostly guessing. Somehow still making progress. #DoingEverythingWithoutKnowingAnything #MightyYota #TacomaBuild #4thGenTacoma ToyotaTacoma TrailRunnerBuild DIYTruckBuild TacomaMods NYTOP Auxbeam AlphaRex BajaDesigns TruckBuild OffRoadBuild

Most people train one quality and neglect the rest. Strong but stiff. Big but exhausted. Conditioned but fragile. Mobile but lacking strength. That’s exactly why I started building this program. I began dialing this in around mid-January. It started with a basic framework, then I made adjustments based on my own needs, limitations, recovery, and what my body was actually responding to. The system is built around 5 pillars of athletic longevity: Strength. Hypertrophy. Power. Endurance. Mobility. The goal wasn’t just to get leaner. It was to build a body that looks better, performs better, moves better, and holds up long term. Using the InBody system at @luxfitsf consistently — first thing in the morning when I arrive at the gym, fasted — I was able to track my progress and go from around 17% body fat to just under 8%. But the biggest win wasn’t just the number. It was feeling athletic again. Moving better. Recovering better. Getting stronger. Having better conditioning. And not feeling like I had to sacrifice one area just to improve another. This is the same framework I’m now applying to my coaching. If you’re looking for a structured approach to fat loss, muscle gain, performance, and long-term movement — I currently have openings for: • Online Coaching • 1-on-1 Personal Training at @luxfitsf DM me “5 PILLARS” and I’ll send you more info.

Leg day lineup today: Seated hamstring curls → leg extensions → leg press → DB RDL → walking barbell lunges No fluff. Just work that hits. My split stays consistent, but I rotate movements to keep progress moving: Day 1 – Upper Push/Pull A Day 2 – Upper Push/Pull B Day 3 – Conditioning A (more bodyweight focus) Day 4 – Legs Day 5 – Conditioning B Rules I stick to: * Don’t train 6 days in a row * Don’t take 2 days off in a row * Keep the structure, adjust the movements That’s the balance. Too many people jump programs the second things feel stale. Reality is, progress comes from repeating the right things long enough… while making small, smart adjustments. Rotating movements isn’t random—it’s intentional: * Helps reduce overuse and joint stress * Targets muscles from different angles for fuller development * Keeps performance high without frying your CNS I’ve been on both sides—pushing max numbers and chasing stage condition. What actually works long term is staying consistent and giving your body a reason to adapt without breaking it down. Train hard. Train smart. Stay in it long enough to see it pay off. If you’re trying to level up your training: 📍 Personal training available at @luxfitsf Mission Rock 💻 Online coaching available @bemighty_ 🎯 Now opening weekday morning slots for competition posing clients Tap in. Let’s build something that actually lasts.
