Welcome to Belonging Books ✨📚 What is Belonging Books? Belonging Books is a community bookstore that centers the voices and stories of people of color and other underrepresented people. Our Mission: We create and hold space for joy, celebration, rest, and connection through books, events, and community gatherings. Our Beginnings: We opened in 2022 as a pop-up bookstore, participating in value-aligned events and offering BIPOC-centered programs. Our Founder: Erica Tso Haidas created Belonging Books with the goal to carve out a small sanctuary for people who feel like they live in the grey spaces. Growing Together. As part of the Arts & Justice Collective, we’ve built partnerships, hosted joyful gatherings, and uplifted historically-excluded voices across Cape Cod. Our Home: Now rooted at 438 Main Street in Hyannis, we are proud to offer a gathering place for book clubs, writing circles, open mics, and more. You Belong Here: Visit us at 438 Main Street, Hyannis. Discover books, events, and community. Photo Credit: @olipecurioso

It’s time for another Defining Moments Book Club at Belonging Books tomorrow! We invite you to join our conversation based around “The Serviceberry” by Robin Wall Kimmerer facilitated by @natashainhermoment This book invites us to think again about economics, and imagine another way of relating to one another based on generosity, kindness, interconnectedness, and restraint. It reminds us that how we think, and the stories we tell, shape how we live-and it’s high time we thought and lived differently, with new stories, about our place in nature. 📍438 Main St. Hyannis 🗓️ Saturday, May 9 ⏰ 3:30-4:45pm This book club is an opportunity to have conversation whether you’ve read the book or not. Please support Belonging Books by purchasing the books from us in-store or online.

A snippet from the latest blog post be @kaibeestudios : At Belonging Books, we stand by the fact that reading is a political act. Diverse stories shape how we understand the world and people in it by seeing, valuing, and remembering the lives of others. April is recognized for a number of month-long observances, and one of those that we are highlighting in store is Arab-American Heritage Month. Celebrate with us by checking out a diverse range of Arab and Arab-American voices across genres, with a particular focus on Palestinian authors whose stories continue to be marginalized, supporessed, and underrepresented in many spaces. • Head over to our website to check out our latest blog post, and let us know which of these books YOU have read, or are adding to your TBR!
