Some belated and beautiful photos from our glorious Burns Supper in sunny January. Isabel and I curated a menu at Albers to celebrate old Scottish fare. We both met in Edinburgh a week before moving to London and have remained friends ever since and love reminiscing about fair Caledonia. We got the ox bungs sent in the post from Isabel’s dad in Devon and boiled lamb plucks for hours in the traditional way to be stuffed and boiled yet again! We also made Cock a Leekie, a boiled chicken and leek soup with prunes, Arbroath Smokie broth, venison tartare with girolles, Scotch Woodcock, Neeps, Tatties, Dundee Cake!! And for pudding chocolate whiskey prune cake and Tipsy Laird; a whiskey infused raspberry trifle. All served on the best @anta_scotland plates. Thanks to Albers for hosting us and to the lasses who piped the haggis in and toasted to its glory. 🙏💙🏴
