OC Marathon 5/3/2026
2nd Marathon down, first time fully sending it.
Goal Time: 3hr | Final Time 3:19
Marathons are no joke. I am in good shape and thought I had it in me to break 3 hours. I was very wrong. I can’t really blame it on anything else besides the fact that I wasn’t ready for that goal. Spots opened up on the waitlist 2 weeks before and I decided to sign up without doing any long runs the previous 2-3 months. I wanted to send it and go for it and knew I was either going to hit 2:59 or I was going to blow up. And blow up I sure did. I held a 6:52 average pace until mile 20, and then I went down to the ground, literally, and battled the last 6 miles to the finish line. Had a blast and using this as fuel for the next race 🔥Game on.
words will never capture how special this weekend was watching my best friend marry her person in the most magical city.
extra special having baby girl there for this one too… she was kicking it up on the dance floor! Tay + Keon, we love you (and your love) SO much!!!!💓
Ironman La Quinta 70.3. Crushed my goal of under 5 hours and raised $8500 for Children’s Cancer Research. Thank you to everyone who supported.
- 1.2 mile swim | 34:50 (1:48/100m) Avg HR 129
- 56 mile bike | 2:27:14 (23mph avg) Avg HR 136
- 13.1 mile run | 1:25:50 (6:33/mile) Avg HR 153
- Final Time of 4:35:32, 15th in my age group, 4800 calories later
Time to figure out the next fitness goal.
Sunday was one for the books. The energy from LA was incredible, I proved my mom right, she didn’t raise a _____!, I was able to feel the spirit of my dad looking down at us as proud as could be, and nothing better than doing the entire race with my best friend by my side and my mom cheering us on. Was the first and definitely will not be the last. 😎❤️
rest in paradise Mike 🤍🕊️
the best father in law I could ask for - always laid back, with a smile, and down for anything if it meant time together as a family. you taught so many lessons that we’ll carry with us forever.
call your parents and tell them you love them. tell your friends why you’re grateful for them. put your phone down and appreciate being truly present with your partner. and try to live a little more like Mike: be kind, slow down to enjoy the simple things, and don’t sweat the small stuff - because nothing matters more than spending time with the people you love.
