What does a successful family business look like?
At BELL Lighting we are extremely fortunate to have people who care working throughout the company. We are a family business, but we are also a business which has experienced massive growth over the last 10 years. In spite of the growth we have experienced, we have maintained what makes us special, and that is our dedicated staff and the people who make us what we are.
On Thursday last week we were able to bring our staff together for a group photograph, something which is difficult to do now that we have over 100 staff in the business!

We have come a long way in recent years, with the move to our National Distribution Centre marking a push towards growth for BELL Lighting.
With this said, we have been growing even before this move. Our growth has been consistently substantial over many years, and we have worked hard to maintain and improve upon our position in the industry whilst managing the challenges which were presented by the pandemic!
The photographs which we are sharing here span across various facilities, with the final 5 images showing where we are today. We have also shared a product promotion from the late 20th century, showing how far the industry has moved in recent times.

What makes BELL Lighting stand out?
We are a unique company in many ways, from our thorough onsite testing and high quality lighting design service, to our carbon neutral status and our move towards bringing genuinely sustainable products to market. With all of this to highlight, along with a host of new products and being shortlisted for various awards, it's been a while since we championed our heritage!
We wanted to share images from our past to show where our journey started. The first photograph depicts our founder, Edwin Grote, with the second portraying the incandescent lamp factory which BELL Lighting established in London. From this, the following two images show our staff, both working to produce components and coming together as a collective in celebration. The final photograph shows an innovative range of lamps in an eye-catching display, shining a light on our historic push towards producing the best products we possibly can.
The question then becomes, what has changed at BELL Lighting? In some ways, a lot. We have moved towards LED, with a presence across different areas of the market and an outstanding range of fittings as part of our portfolio. In other ways, very little. We are still a family business, we are still a company that believes in supporting our staff by promoting the ethos that we are better together, and we are still always looking to innovate.

We recently visited Boran Packaging in Ireland, where our Illumina Atlas Wattage Switchable LED High Bays were installed to provide an efficient project solution.
Founded in 1972, Boran Packaging has grown into Irelandโs leading manufacturer of flexible packaging. As a long standing family business, their focus on quality and continuous improvement made this project a strong fit for BELL Lighting.
Working from a detailed lighting design developed at BELL House, we supported the upgrade across key areas of the facility.
This project reflects a practical, scalable approach to modernising industrial lighting while maintaining operational continuity.
