Hatiora salicornioides, commonly known as the dancing bones cactus is blooming for the first time. I am seeing this as an auspicious start to the new year.
Decorating the door with evergreens in the darkest days of winter is a practice rich in ancient symbolism and folklore - welcoming guests, offering protection and reminding us of the promise of spring.
We are starting a new trend…all natural botanical holiday trees. Decorated with flowers intentionally saved from our flower farm, I think this is the most beautiful tree I ever had.
What do you think? Does it need bows?

We are at the Guelph Farmers Market today. We always look forward to chatting with our regular clients, meeting market goers, making new friends, and catching up with the amazing supportive vendor community and market staff. Local markets connect people in community, support local artisans and farmers and draw us closer to each other and the land. We hear about your gardens, your memories of your grandma’s garden, share ideas, recipes and learn from each other. Getting up early and packing for market is super hard, but the minute I get here I remember why I do it.
We had a fun day sharing our work at the @wellingtoncounty museum and archives holiday market this weekend.
It was great to meet so many new people. Thanks to everyone for stopping by.
This was my fav wreath that went to a new home -greens and botanicals from our farm to your door.
